This has nothing to do with my current status in life or with my thesis, but it does have to do with daily occurrence. I love working out, I am crazy for it. I would rather hit the gym then do anything else (in the realm of daily activities). Well… the gym that I have access to is Archbold gymnasium on Syracuse universities campus. The only reason that I go to this un-air-conditioned, under-equipped, messy gym is due to the fact that it is free for students of the Environmental Science School (ESF). The reason for this blog entry is to express my shear hatred for spoiled rich kids parents. Yes, THE PARENTS.
It is pretty typical for someone’s upbringing to come out in everything that they do. In this case I am talking about the complete disregard of these children (rich 18-25 year olds can rarely be called adults) in respect to other people. “Gym etiquette” is more important than daily social etiquette due to the level of danger that can be easily avoided when courtesy and patience is applied. The way these virtues are applied in the gym is through replacing weights in the correct location so that people are not tripping over them and smashing there hands between them. Don't hover over machines forever when someone is waiting for it. Don't walk in front of someone while they are using the mirror to evaluate there form. Don't leave weights on bars and machines no matter how short of time you are or how many people you think can lift it. One rule covers all of this; be courteous and observant of everything around you, and not that girls ass on the squat machine in front of you.
